Making An Impact!

Hello League,
This season, the NYIs are going to go far. We came to this league not only to compete with friends and family, but we came to town in order to make an impact. With an impressive rookie coaching season under our belt we are looking to use our newly established acumen to delve deep into the playoffs this time around. The NYIs look foward to facing the many adversities and challenges that come with being an owner, in any league. The NYIs released this statement to the OGIL BLITZ, "The respect that we have for every individual team is so great... We anticipate the hard work we have ahead of us," Making an impact will be the NYIs' primary goal in '010.

Super Bowl Bound

A few observations from yesterday...

1. The Commish picked both winners yesterday and went 1 for 2 on the spread.

2. Peyton is a machine.  I think SkyNet sent him to earth to find John Connor.  There is no way the Saints defense is going to be able to keep pace or find a terminator to play in the saftey and keep him honest.

3. These are two very likeable teams.  It's going to be tough to be angry if either team wins this game.

4.  The most annoying subtext to the SB will be the "Manning" families rooting interest.  Every dumb tv commentator is going to act like they just uncovered the fact that Archie and the Manning family band  grew up in New Orleans.

5.  The over under for this game may likely be north of 70 points.

6.  I belive that Joe Bozo Buck "biblically" knows Brett Farve.  He was flat smitten.  In fact, he spent the whole second half making excuses for Favre and the Vikings.  He was so biased he started making Aikman's points seem intelligent.  Did anyone else notice that Buck spent the better part of the second half trying to jinx Garrett Hartley?  It was almost comical.  He literally found 12 different ways to remind us that hartley was too younf to ever make a meaningful kick in crunch time.  It was even sweeter when artley pumped it right down the middle.

7.  Why is Peyton's head shaped like the planters peanut man?  And do you think if someone told that to Rex Ryan he would take a bite out of Peyton?

8. Do you think Jim Nantz and Phil Simms comb each other hair while the other one holds a mirror during commerical breaks?  98, 99, 100 Phil...a tradition unlike any other...stroking each others mane AND... The Masters...only on CBS!

9.  If Garrett Hartley misses the FG but the Saints still win...does John Carney start the SB?

10.  An early line...Vegas says Colts by 4...The Commish says Colts by 11.5

Old Glory Insurance League predictions

Soooo I keep seeing members of the league posting predictions about this weekend.  Let the Commish set you straight...

The Vikings have a stacked offense and a productive defense...until this week.  The dominant offense this week will be the Saints and their defense while not superior will play consistent enough and create turnovers to win.  The constant pressure that the Vikings got on the Cowgirls will not be present this week.  A weak Minnesota secondary will be exposed and Bennie Sapp may give up two TD's - and at least one to Colston.  Farve will feel the pressure and Childress will rely heavily on the pass.  He'll forget to mix in Peterson and Taylor and his pass happy play calling will allow for at least one interception.  The Commish's Vegas line says the Saints are favored by 11.

The press and Uncle Rexy have made a big deal about the Jets.  The J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets.  However, let's look at the game at hand.  Peyton and ther Colts are flat good!  They can pass on any team all day long.  Plus, if he can make Garcon and Collie look like they are All Pro - then he can throw on ANYONE.  Look, the Jets will put Super Revis on Reggie Wayne.  Peyton just won't look at him.  He'll throw to Clark, Garcon, Collie all day long.  The Jets can't keep up with all of them.  They have to single a linebacker on Addai and then put a slower LB on Clark out of the backfield.  With the others going deep Manning will dink and dunk all day long.  They will dominate the ball.  When Sanchez gets the ball he'll feel pressure to throw and this will take away from the incredible Jet running game.  This will be closer then some think but the Colts willl win.  The Commish's Vegas line says the Colts are favored by 8.5.

That's a PREDICTION BABY!!!!!!

My Predictions on this weekend's games

Hello League,

It's great to transition to the new OGIL Blog site and I look foward to making many posts in the near future. Alright, let's cut to the chase; I believe that the Colts will defeat the Jets by the score of 24 to 14, advancing to the Super Bowl. Also, I think that Favre and the Vikings will make it out of New Orleans alive winning by 5 points in a 35 to 30 game. So, assuming that both the Colts and Vikings get to the Super Bowl, I pick the Colts to win the game 28 to 24. Stay thirsty to pick my friends.

Bold Predictions for this Week's Game

I will be the first to start the blogging, not related to the league, but it is relevant to the NFL

Jets will be the Colts 27 - 24, calling it, last second field goal

Saints will stomp out the Vikings 17-14, i know who would ever think of this being a low scoring game. Brees throws 3 INTs, Farve throws 2 INTs and loses a fumbles in the last two minutes on a sack and FF by Jonathan Vilma setting up victory formation.

What say you?
